A superbill is not a generic invoice
Private-pay clients need a clean invoice: who you are, who they are, dates, service language, and the balance. Out-of-network clients need extra fields their plan will OCR — NPI, tax ID, license, taxonomy, place of service, CPT, ICD-10, charges, and amount already collected. Therapist Invoice Generator prints both from the same session list.
State pages exist for search, not because invoices are rewritten by statute
There is no separate “Alabama invoice act” for therapy. What changes is the letters after your name (LPC vs LMHC vs LPCC vs LCPC vs LCMHC), the board that issued the number, compact notes, and a handful of tax caveats. Each state URL preselects that default so a Texas LPC and a New York LMHC land on language that matches their wall license.
HIPAA posture
Previewing is anonymous and the form is never posted — names, dates of birth, member IDs, and diagnosis codes stay in this browser. Exporting asks for an email sign-in, and the account stores only your email, display name, and monthly export count — never form or PDF contents. Free accounts include 5 exports per month; Pro is $9.99/month for unlimited exports. If a future version adds cloud sync or “email this for me,” it needs a Business Associate Agreement and a different architecture. Do not paste PHI into a random chatbot to “format my superbill.”
How to use it each month
- Fill practice identifiers once. They persist in localStorage.
- Change the client. Add a row per date of service.
- Download PDF or print to paper / secure portal upload.
